A couple of days after your application, you’ll receive an email inviting you to the SBTF Ning Site, where you’ll build your profile. In the Ning, you’ll find Training Material, Forums and a chat room to start knowing your fellow Crisis Mappers. In the following days you will be trained and introduced to the tasks and activities of the Standby Task Force.
To be part of the Standby Task Force, you don’t need to work full time on the deployments, or to be an expert in the use of the Ushahidi platform: the only thing that you need to have is the willingness to help and some free time during the week.
Once we have developed a robust model for interfacing with the humanitarian community using the Ushahidi platform, we hope to work with other colleagues from FrontlineSMS, Sahana and OpenStreetMap, so that their qualified volunteers can be part of this dedicated Task Force.
WE LOOK FORWARD TO WORKING WITH YOU!
